The Franz Jozef Glacier is the next target. On no place on earth glaciers descend lower on these latitudes. The reason is just that it rains here 700 cm a year, 10 times as much in rainy Holland. The deposits of snow high on the mountains are that huge that the glacier descends to 300 meter above sea level.
